Mariel Eaves is a (Chapel Hill-born) Triangle native and alumnus of the NC State College of Design. She has centered support of marginalized communities (some of which she identifies with) as a common thread in her academic, professional and volunteer careers. Before and during college, she served as Program Coordinator for a free design and business program for teenagers in Durham. Her undergraduate work centered on Black femme identity, trauma, and healing. She has used her design background to support projects directed by (especially Black and Brown) femme folks with the LGBT Center of Raleigh, Equality NC, and on an individual basis.
Mariel lives in Raleigh with her best friend and their two fur-babies: Smith and Alice.
