Mariel Eaves is a (Chapel Hill-born) Triangle native and alum of the NC State College of Design. They have centered support of marginalized communities (some of which they identify with) as a common thread in their academic, professional and volunteer careers. Before and during college, they served as Program Coordinator for a nonprofit design and business program for teenagers in Durham. Their undergraduate work centered on Black femme identity, trauma, and healing. They have used her design background to support projects directed by (especially Black and Brown) femme folks with the LGBT Center of Raleigh, Equality NC, and on an individual basis.

Mariel lives in Durham with their cats: Smith and Alice.
