Speaker's Bureau Application

Members of the LGBTQ Center Speakers’ Bureau are UNC-CH students who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and heterosexual allies (LGBTQIA) who assist the Center in education programs. Members voluntarily share their personal stories about being LGBTQIA and respond to questions and comments from an audience. Speakers’ Bureau panels are organized by the LGBTQ Center as part of ongoing programs or at the request of an organization. Members of Speakers Bureau speak primarily at Safe Zone trainings and in classes on UNC campus.

Panels:

  • Provide information about the UNC climate, increase LGBTIQA visibility, and should be educational
  • Consist of 3 to 5 people that identify as LGBTIQ or Allies
  • Are comprised of UNC students, faculty, or staff and sometimes alumnae/i or local community members
  • Strive to be diverse and able to represent the UNC Chapel Hill campus and surrounding communities
  • Typically run one hour in length.

Please contact us to schedule Speakers Bureau panelists to visit your classroom, training or workshop.  If you are interested in becoming a Speakers Bureau panelist, please fill out and submit our application form.
