Educating for Equality
The purpose of the LGBTQ Center Safe Zone program is to create a network of allies for individuals who may be marginalized on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or gender expression. All UNC-Chapel Hill faculty, staff, and students are eligible to become Safe Zone trainees. Training sessions take place several times a semester, and customized Safe Zone trainings can be scheduled with the LGBTQ Center on behalf of any department, group, or organization.

Join us as we share our struggles losses, joys, and triumphs while navigating the world around us as LGBTQ+ people. Calling all faculty, staff, and grad students! 📣 Looking to Spring into Break with a relaxing tour of our Botanical Garden? Now’s your chance! Join the LGBTQ Center and the NC Botanical Garden on Friday March 13: at 3pm, meet at the trail behind Boshamer Stadium and Ehringhaus Residence Hall for a guided campus-to-garden walk, ending at the NC Botanical Garden (at the bottom of Manning Dr.). Need help finding the beginning of the trail? The name of the natural area is Coker Pinetum. The trail entrance begins at the parking lot that sits behind Boshamer Stadium, between Ehringhaus Residence Hall, off of Ehringhaus Dr. Here is the location on Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Qa9FD6dUcJ63Py3h7 Want to just attend the mixer? Meet up at the NC Botanical Garden at 3:30pm! Light refreshments will be provided. Join the LGBTQ Center and CAPS on Friday, March 6 from 2pm to 3:30pm for nature walks, community crafting, and connection in the beautiful Coker Arboretum!
