Educating for Equality

The purpose of the LGBTQ Center Safe Zone program is to create a network of allies for individuals who may be marginalized on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or gender expression. All UNC-Chapel Hill faculty, staff, and students are eligible to become Safe Zone trainees. Training sessions take place several times a semester, and customized Safe Zone trainings can be scheduled with the LGBTQ Center on behalf of any department, group, or organization.

Don’t throw it away – give it a new life! 🌸 To get ready for our spring clothing swap near the end of March, we’re accepting clothing donations! Drop off any and all pre-loved clothes in good condition (in a bag, if possible) at the LGBTQ Center before March 23rd. Stay tuned for more details about our clothing swap! 🔁👕

Join the UNC LGBTQ Center in celebrating Black History Month with a discussion of Daniel Black’s Isaac’s Song, a novel exploring a complicated father-son relationship in the backdrop of 1980s Chicago. We’ll be meeting on Thursday, February 26 from 5pm-6:30pm to explore the themes of love, familial relationships, and generational trauma present in Black’s powerful work over some light refreshments.
