Graduate students! Join QGAPS at 5:30pm on Monday, November 25th at the Graduate Student Center (211A W. Cameron Ave) to watch Red, White & Royal Blue (2023). A queer romcom, based on the 2019 novel by Casey McQuiston, about a fictional son of the US president and his clandestine romance with a fictional prominent member of the UK royal family. We're using this time to engage in some stress relief and unplug before the Thanksgiving holidays - which often means we have both assignments of our own and grading deadlines looming.
There will be pizza provided, so please make sure to RSVP here!
Join the Carolina Veterans Resource Center (CVRC) and the LGBTQ Center on Thursday November 14 from 12pm-1:30pm for an LGBTQ+ Veteran’s Appreciation Luncheon!
The luncheon will be a space for LGBTQ+ and allied military-connected students to engage in community building while uplifting and celebrating each other. This catered event will be an opportunity to share experiences, ask questions and engage in discussion revolving around various challenges that LGBTQ+ identifying military-connected students face as Tar Heels while sharing good food. We hope you will consider joining us for this meaningful event at the UNC LGBTQ Center (SASB South Suite 3308).
BEWARE THE REALMS!!
Taking place at the Forest Theatre (123 S Boundary St) on October 25 from 5pm-7pm, The LGBTQ Center will be offering Forbidden Realms: a highly themed fantasy evening, set in a mysterious land, where participants will compete in four tasks with strange and curious hosts to gain access to the grand Royal Feast. There will be a mischievous Potion Seller handing out Righteous Tonics or Wicked Draughts, steely Guardians of the Realm you must prove your worthiness to, Tricksters to deceive, Mysticks to confound, and a fabled Quest Map to guide your journey to victory. Prepare for an evening of unexpected twists and turns that will challenge your courage and cunning — whispers of enchanted treasures and dark curses fill the air, and only the bravest will unravel the Realm’s secrets. But we’ve made an oath not to reveal too much…come out and explore the Realm yourself, traveler – if you dare!!!
P.S. Dressing up is highly encouraged!!
