Join the LGBTQ Center in Coker Arboretum on November 19 from 4pm-5:30pm to honor Trans Day of Remembrance. Together, attendees will be invited to write words of remembrance on slips of water-soluble paper, then be guided through planting the words alongside native seeds in small pots. The pots will then be donated to a nearby area to be planted so the memory can live on. Artists and poets who are interested in helping to create an environment of grounding, reflection, community, and heart can supply in-person performance, written text, visual artwork, or other mediums. We hope you will join us for a time to reconnect and grow together.
Eligible for CLE Credit!
Join the Carolina Veterans Resource Center (CVRC) and the LGBTQ Center on Thursday November 14 from 12pm-1:30pm for an LGBTQ+ Veteran’s Appreciation Luncheon!
The luncheon will be a space for LGBTQ+ and allied military-connected students to engage in community building while uplifting and celebrating each other. This catered event will be an opportunity to share experiences, ask questions and engage in discussion revolving around various challenges that LGBTQ+ identifying military-connected students face as Tar Heels while sharing good food. We hope you will consider joining us for this meaningful event at the UNC LGBTQ Center (SASB South Suite 3308).
This National Coming Out Day, let’s share and learn from each other. The theme for this year is “COMING IN” -- a chance to connect over experiences, perspectives, and life stories to grow a more engaged and resilient community. We have two exciting opportunities to join in on the joy of NCOD this year!!
Side A, a faculty and staff mixer, will take place Wednesday October 9 from 5-6:30pm at The Gathering Place on Franklin Street. Featuring fun and insightful interactive dialogue activities in a cozy hangout space, this will be an opportunity to connect with your colleagues and make meaningful ties with each other. Come out, be together, and help build a vibrant community -- don't miss this chance to engage, share experiences, and foster lasting relationships in a warm and welcoming environment!
We hope to see you for an evening of memory-making, joy, and connection. National Coming Out Day is a time to bond with each other, so let’s celebrate together!
