Gender Violence Services Coordinators

The Gender Violence Services Coordinators (GVSCs) provide free, confidential support and advocacy for students, faculty, and staff of all identities who have been impacted by sexual violence, interpersonal violence, stalking, and sexual or gender-based harassment.

The GVSCs hold drop-in hours in the LGBTQ Center on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month from 3-5 pm when the University is operating under normal conditions. More information about GVSC support and services can be found on our website.

Holly Lovern

Holly has worked as a GVSC since August 2016. She graduated from Lynchburg College (2014) with a BS in Psychology, earned a M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina (2016) in Higher Education and Student Affairs, and is currently pursuing a MS in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University.

Prior to working at UNC-Chapel Hill, Holly provided confidential support and advocacy for members of the campus community at UofSC who experienced gender-based violence and harassment. Holly's completed HAVEN, Safe Zone, Safe Zone: Gender Identity & Gender Expression, Mental Health First Aid, Embody, Green Zone, and UndocuCarolina trainings while at Carolina.

Kayla Zollinger

Kayla has worked as a GVSC since January 2020. She graduated from Baylor University (2012) with a Bachelor of Business Administration and earned a Master’s degree in Social Work (2015) from Baylor University. Prior to working at UNC-Chapel Hill, Kayla worked as a Crime Victim Advocate in a Prosecuting Attorney's office in Tacoma, Washington working with individuals impacted by relationship violence. Kayla's completed Safe Zone, Green Zone, and UndocuCarolina trainings during her time at Carolina.
