Open Position: Assistant Director
The University seeks an energetic professional who has experience with LGBTQ+ communities to provide educational program facilitation, community building program planning, and implementation, student services, and outreach for an established center. The Assistant Director of the LGBTQ Center will report to the Director. The position has two major components. First, coordinating and implementing Safe Zone and other educational programs. Second, coordinating and implementing the undergraduate social and community-building programs, Lavender Graduation, and Pride Week at Carolina. Program planning includes collaboration with student leaders, LGBTQ Center Ambassadors, and other employees. The assistant director will meet with students in groups or 1:1 to provide mentoring and support upon request. The person in this position will be responsible for keeping required assessment documentation and records current. The work schedule is variable according to programming and departmental needs but is typically 12p-9p Monday-Friday. On rare occasions (e.g., Lavender Graduation) weekend work is required.
