Trans Talk Tuesday

Trans Talk Tuesday

Trans Talk Tuesday is a year-round* peer support/discussion group for people who identify as transgender, gender non-conforming, or who is questioning their gender. This space is meant to provide community and connection among folks on the basis of gender identity. The group is open to campus and community members that identify as transgender (in any respect), genderqueer, or who are questioning their gender identity or gender expression.

This space is not an educational space—if a person is interested in learning more about these topics, but does not identify as part of these communities, they are welcome to attend educational programs such as Safe Zone: Gender Identity and Gender Expression.

Trans Talk Tuesday meets on first and third Tuesdays from 6:15pm to 7:15pm at Caribou Coffee, 1408 E Franklin St, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

*This program is year-round, meaning that it continues regularly through academic holidays.

If you have questions or require accommodations to fully participate in this program, please contact us.

Can cisgender allies attend Trans Talk Tuesday?

This space is not meant to be an educational space where people have to explain their identities. Unless you have been invited to accompany someone who is transgender, gender-nonconforming, or questioning their gender (i.e. for emotional support entering a new space), we ask that you do not attend this program. You are welcome to attend any of our educational programs.

Is Trans Talk Tuesday only for UNC Chapel Hill students?

No. Anyone who identifies as transgender, gender-nonconforming, or who is questioning their gender is welcome to attend.
