Undergraduate student organizations that focus on LGBTIQA+ communities, or with missions that align with the Center's goal of fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for UNC-Chapel Hill community members of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions.
CAGE works to eliminate gender biases and to build a positive community to discuss and brainstorm solutions to gender-based issues. We are a student organization at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, based out of the Campus Y, that strives to create gender-affirming spaces throughout campus.
As a committee, we advocate for gender equity. We reject the gender binary as a social construct that often leads to harmful gender roles and gender-based violence and discrimination. We celebrate the spectrum of gender identity and gender expression. We make our community a welcoming, safe, and affirming place for all people to discuss and explore gender as an important part of self and identity. We discuss experiences, current events, and theory to challenge concepts of gender and its role on our campus and in our society.
oSTEM empowers LGBTQ people in STEM to succeed personally, academically, and professionally by cultivating environments and communities that nurture innovation, leadership, and advocacy.

Additionally, we connect students to LGBTQ-friendly employers and seeks to provide extensive professional development opportunities specific to the needs of LGBTQ+ students in business. Our organization welcomes allies to show support and partake in educational events, which will provide them the tools to become a better ally.

Q-connect & OUTreach is a public service organization serving to support LGBTQ youth within the state of North Carolina. Our organization seeks to provide education, resources, support and mentorship to LGBTQ youth. Furthermore, we take pride in providing research-based and empirically validated ways to address and create dialogue around School-based bullying, mental health and homophobia. After meeting with our LGBTQ youth, we continue connecting and providing OUTreach through our forum and mentoring program. Student apart of our mentoring program can provide assistance with things such as transitioning to college, college fit in regards to LGBT inclusivity/acceptance and how to get more involved in LGBTQ organizations. The benefit of such a mentorship program is that many of our mentors have had experienced growing up queer first hand, so we can provide a unique, authentic and empathetic perspective to LGBTQ youth.
We want to empower queer people to succeed in tech fields, build community, and inspire innovation. We are trying to change the culture of hackathons with the first queer hackathon - a hackathon hosted by and for queer students of all backgrounds.
Tech classrooms, hackathons, and companies have historically been dominated by cis straight white men. Queer people feel isolated and excluded in these spaces, which is why there is low queer representation in tech fields and poor retention of queer students, particularly queer women of color, in computer science classrooms.
We are an LGBTQ+ centered interfaith organization dedicated to creating inclusive spaces for all people to find meaning in their lives. We are interested in exploring the intersections of faith, sexual orientation, and gender identity, and educating others on these experiences.
The Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA) works to foster a strong LGBTQ+ community at UNC. SAGA is an events-based organization that hosts many programs and activities throughout the year. Examples include Queer Prom, Trivia Night, monthly Movie Nights, and much more! In addition, we hold collaborations with other student groups on campus to celebrate the intersectional nature of LGBTQ+ life. Above all else, SAGA strives to promote the welfare of all LGBTQ+ folks on campus.
